The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)

I absolutely love this film. It’s a fantastic morality tale, a great character piece, an brilliantly unconventional western, an utter classic. There are a few little problems and aged elements – occasionally awkward pacing, a score that frustrates and overcrowds at times, and a few lines of dialogue a bit too blunt – but overall the film remains as great of an experience as it’s ever been. There’s nothing I can say about this film that hasn’t already been better articulated by others. It’s fantastic.

I give it four and a half peaches, and a hunk of hold.
