Legion: Skin Deep (2014) by Brandon Sanderson

While lacking the novelty of the first Legion story, “Legion: Skin Deep” is, in all other ways, just as good. Sanderson delves into Stephen’s psyche more here, to great effect. I was glad to see the plot of this one, a thriller like the first story’s, had science-fiction and divine aspects; hopefully this is a trend of the series.

I’ve never really gelled with Sanderson’s space-opera style science-fiction (Defending Elysium for example), but I think he does a fantastic job with the modern era thriller-type science-fiction stories like this. I hope the era 3 Mistborn series feels like a melding of the Legion series with the other Mistborn series’.

I give this story three aspects, and an infinite amount of Batmans.
