The Sound of Music (1965)

A brilliant classic musical. Even at three hours, I never felt like it was dragging. Everything works so well. Julie Andrews is fantastic, the music is excellent, the story itself is legitimately compelling, the visuals are gorgeous, and even all the kids give good performances. It’s easy to see why the film is still so well-regarded.

Fantastic blu-ray transfer too. Looks amazingly cinematic.

7-copy

One of those classics where it’s easy to see why it’s still so well-remembered. I give it four hills, and a slice of strudel.
